Love & Carat sells certified diamonds and gemstones - lab-grown and natural - to people buying one for the first time, usually for someone they love. That is a large amount of money and very little information, and most of the industry likes it that way. We would rather you understood what you were paying for.
Love & Carat is an online jeweler based in New York. We sell certified lab-grown and natural diamonds, natural gemstones such as sapphires, rubies and emeralds, engagement rings made to order in gold or platinum around a center stone you choose, and diamond earrings and tennis bracelets in gold.
Orders ship insured, with a signature on delivery, from our partners in the US, the UK and elsewhere.
Every diamond carries a GIA or IGI report, and every gemstone a report from GIA, GRS, Gübelin, SSEF, AGL or IGI. These are independent laboratories, and the grades on the report are theirs, not ours. We never list a stone without one.
A diamond's report has its own number, which you can look up on the GIA or IGI website to read the grades for yourself.
Four grades set the price of a diamond. Only some of them change how it looks. Cut and ratio you will see every day; the difference between VS2 and VVS1 you will not see at all. We would rather sell you a larger, better-cut stone than a certificate you keep in a drawer.
Orders go by specialist courier, insured door to door, with a signature on delivery. Loose stones and non-custom pieces can be returned within the window on our returns page; made-to-order and engraved pieces cannot, and we say so before you buy rather than after.
A lab-grown diamond is chemically and optically the same as a natural one, and it is graded by the same laboratories on the same scale. It usually costs less than a comparable natural diamond. Where two stones look the same, we would rather you paid less, which is why we recommend lab-grown.
